|It is every employee’s duty to integrate Health, Safety & Environmental protection with continuous improvement to quality driven systems, procedures and standards into all of National Helicopter Services Limited’s operations.
This will be achieved by compliance with all applicable laws and regulations pertaining to aviation, occupational safety, health and the environment. Where existing laws and regulations do not provide adequate protection, the company will develop and implement its own regulations, procedures and guidelines based upon scientific knowledge, established aviation and engineering practices, appropriate industry standards and environmental stewardship.
It is a requirement for all members of staff in conjunction with the Quality Auditors to review maintenance actions and procedures on a regular basis to ensure that accidents and incidents that could be caused by human factors are eliminated.
Accident prevention alongside quality services is a top priority of National Helicopter Services Limited.
The function of the Quality Management System is to ensure compliance with, and adequacy of operational and maintenance requirements, standards and procedures. Operational procedures are contained within NHSL's Operations Manuals and maintenance requirements are defined in its Maintenance Control Manual (MCM).
The Quality Management System is monitored closely at regular intervals in order to minimise instances of non-compliance. This is achieved through the Quality Assurance Program (QAP), which consists of all planned and systematic actions necessary to provide confidence that all operations and maintenance activities are being conducted in accordance with all applicable requirements, standards and procedures.
The Quality Assurance Program is administered via the Quality Unit/Department, which includes a Quality Manager for both operations and maintenance activities of its Air Operator and Approved Maintenance Organization Certificates, and Quality Inspectors and Auditors for maintenance and operations.
An integrated Quality Manual, administration and forms exists within the Quality Unit. This ensures a uniform application of the Quality System throughout the entire NHSL operations.
